Agent of Tottenham target Radu Drăgușin: “Italian teams are also interested in him”

Agent of Genoa defender and Tottenham Hotspur target Radu Drăgușin has revealed that Italian clubs are keeping tabs on the player.

Drăgușin, 21, scored for the Rossoblu against Inter and it was the club’s first goal against the Nerazzurri since 2018. It was reported earlier today that Tottenham have held talks with Genoa for the Romanian and will soon make an offer for the player.

The Genoa man has been linked with multiple Italian clubs as well and his agent Florin Manea recently spoke to SportItalia about his client’s performances this season and his future at Genoa. He revealed that Italian clubs are keen on the 21-year-old but he would also like to join the top six clubs in the Premier League.

He said: “Yes, there are also Italian teams interested in him, I can confirm it. As I was saying, first of all Genoa must be happy. Then it is normal that at that point it would be up to me to carry on the talks. If he arrives, he arrives, otherwise we are very well.”

When asked about the fact that Roma and Atalanta need defenders, Manea said: “In my opinion, if he leaves Genoa, he must do so for a very important team. I’m talking about one of the top 5-6 in the Premier League, the top in Italy like Inter or Milan. I mention these names as examples, not to say that they are interested. They are very strong teams and we would be happy if they were interested in him. Let’s see, now think about working.”

His agent also spoke about a potential renewal with Genoa, stating that he remains happy at the club but would not mind taking a jump.

He said: “We said to ourselves that we will talk after the transfer market. We don’t want to leave either, we start from this assumption. Then if an important club comes that can make him make a leap in his career it is normal that they can evaluate his sale. Just like Genoa, if an important figure arrives, according to what we read about the fact that there is talk of possible offers of €30 million.

“In life certain trains arrive once or twice, but we are in no hurry to leave. Many teams have called and are interested. If something will come out of these, it is fine. Otherwise, we are happy here and after the transfer window we will certainly find an agreement to renew.”
