We have to wait patiently to see how his situation will develop.” Van der Sar is regarded as one of the greatest goalkeepers in football history having shone for both Ajax and Juventus. He then made his presence known in England after joining Fulham in 2001, before moving on to Manchester United where he spent six years as the Red Devils’ number one.
