And Kanchelskis has opened up on his troubles where Russia are trying to force the nation to war against Ukraine. He told the club’s website: “I’m living in Kostanay now, it’s a small city in Kazakhstan. “The war in this area means Premier League matches are no longer being shown on TV. “It’s made it tougher for me to keep an eye on Everton’s results, something I try to do every week. “Thankfully my son, Andrei, is a big Everton fan. He is always speaking to me about Everton. He even has an Everton tattoo. Are Everton staying up?’ Thankfully it was good news.” Kanchelskis did not spend long at Everton, representing them between 1995 and 1997, but he proved to be a goal-plundering winger, netting 20 times in 56 Premier League appearances before moving to Fiorentina and then Rangers. He might be best remembered for his time at United, where he won the Premier League and FA Cup double in 1994. At the time of his arrival in 1991, he was just one of 11 players in the First Division to be from outside the British Isles. But he went on to 161 appearances for United, scoring 36 times, winning two Premier League titles, two FA Cups and the League Cup.
