G League To Have International Draft Program
The G League will introduce a new international draft component ahead of next season. Under these new rules, international players between the ages of 18 and 21 will be able to play in the G League, without having to enter the following NBA Draft. Currently, international players who sign with the G League between the ages of 18 and 21 become automatically eligible to be drafted in the following year's NBA Draft. The first ever international draft will be held on June 28. The G League will set a random order for the international draft on June 19. It will consist of one round and will be held virtually. Players will have until July 7 to decide if they will play in the G League this season. Teams will hold a player's international G League rights for two seasons after drafting that player.
