The Utah Jazz have agreed to acquire John Collins from the Atlanta Hawks for Rudy Gay and a future second round pick. The Jazz and Hawks discussed versions of a Collins' trade for over a year. Collins has three years and $78 million remaining on his contract. The trade creates a $25.3 million trade exception for the Hawks. The Hawks now will avoid the possibility of being a second apron team and project to be below the luxury tax for 23-24.
