Milan hold exploratory talks for Bologna’s Marko Arnautović

Milan are keeping tabs on Bologna’s Marko Arnautović as the Austrian is highly praised by the board, La Gazzetta dello Sport report.

No talks have been held yet between the two clubs but Rossoneri sporting director Ricky Massara and technical director Paolo Maldini held exploratory talks to understand if a move is possible or not.

Arnautović, 34, has scored 22 goals in 49 Serie A games since he joined Bologna in 2021. Currently he’s out due to a muscle strain in his right foot.

Furthermore, his relationship with coach Thiago Motta did not evolve for the better with the striker left out from the starting line-up in multiple occasions due to lack of effort in training.

His current deal with Bologna runs until 2024 with a reported salary of €3 million per year and a €5 million offer could be enough for Bologna to let him go.

Regardless of this possible deal, Milan are set to make a lot of changes among strikers for next season.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic will be out of contract at the end of the season and as of right now there have been no talks for a new agreement while Divock Origi and Ante Rebić are unlikely to stay.
