Milan interested in Al-Ahli defender Merih Demiral

Serie A giants Milan are interested in the possibility of signing Al Ahli defender Merih Demiral in January.

The Rossoneri have a defensive crisis on their hands in recent weeks and they are set to see Matteo Gabbia return from his loan stint at Villarreal.

Marco Conterio has reported that Demiral is one of the names on Milan’s shortlist for the January transfer window, with the Rossoneri looking to sign a new centre-back almost immediately next month. Milan have made concrete contact for the Turkey international but the move seems unlikely so far.

Demiral earns a big amount and because Growth Decree regulations are being removed, the Rossoneri will struggle to land the defender in January. Napoli are also interested but they would also find it complicated because of the new regulations.

Demiral had joined Saudi club Al Ahli in the summer from Atalanta and he was constantly linked with a move to Inter before he joined the Middle East side.
