Nurnberg 1-1 Arsenal LIVE REACTION: Freak Jorginho own goal ensures spoils are shared after Bukayo Saka’s brilliant opener

Arsenal’s first senior pre-season friendly of the 2023/24 season ended in a 1-1 draw with German side Nurnberg.  The Gunners named a very strong starting XI and dominated the opening exchanges, with Bukayo Saka’s trademark finish giving them the lead. Mikel Arteta made a host of changes in the second 45 minutes, including handing Kai Havertz a debut, and the Gunners lost control. But the equaliser was still ridiculous, as Karl Hein attempted to play a pass into Jorginho, it wasn’t on, and under intense pressure, the midfielder ended up catapulting the ball into his own net. Arsenal pushed for a winner but substitute Folarin Balogun missed two glorious chances.
