Spurs Exploring Possible Arena In Downtown San Antonio
The San Antonio Spurs are exploring the idea of a downtown arena to replace AT&T Center, which has been their home since 1999. The Spurs' lease at AT&T Center expires in 2032. "People are having a conversation about an arena for the Spurs downtown," said Eddie Aldrete, who ran the successful campaign for public funding for the AT&T Center. The site of the downtown arena could also include a minor league baseball stadium for the San Antonio Missions. The two projects could be built side by side that would create a downtown professional sports district.
