Updated UEFA Rankings of Italian clubs

It was another successful week for Italian football in the European competitions. That has helped their UEFA Rankings a fair bit.

Italy has five semi-finalists after a thrilling midweek round of European football. Sky Sport have taken a look at where all of the teams from the country are on the UEFA Ranking, which is based on coefficients.

Fiorentina

La Viola were already 4-1 up when they started the second leg of their UEFA Conference League tie against Lech Poznan. However, Fiorentina would not have an easy night in Florence. Their Polish opponents scored three goals, which put them level over two games. The home side woke up and Riccardo Sottil and Gaetano Castrovilli scored to save Fiorentina.

Fiorentina are now 92nd in UEFA’s club ranking.

Lazio

The Biancocelesti were one of the few Italian teams already out of European competitions after losing to Dutch side AZ Alkmaar (4-2) in the Conference League. Lazio are in 42nd, still far ahead of Fiorentina.

Milan

Not far ahead of Lazio are Milan. The Rossoneri already comfortably beat Napoli in the league (0-4), and they managed put the Partenopei aside in the Champions League quarterfinals as well.

In the first leg, Ismael Bennacer put Milan ahead. At the Maradona, Olivier Giroud doubled the Rossoneri’s lead after superb run from Rafael Leão. Victor Osimhen pulled one back for Napoli, but it was too little, too late.

Milan are 36th in UEFA’s ranking.
