Barcelona chief confirms interest in Napoli’s Stanislav Lobotka

Barcelona president Joan Laporta confirmed the club’s interest in Napoli’s Stanislav Lobotka.

Speaking in an interview with Mundo Deportivo via La Gazzetta dello Sport, Barcelona president Joan Laporta affirmed that his club are on the lookout for new additions to the squad and have Napoli midfielder Stanislav Lobotka under their lens.

The Blaugranas’ sporting director Deco discussed with club scouts and the president regarding the 29-year-old as he is expected to have received the green signal to progress proceedings to land him this summer. Laporta said: “We talked about it with Deco. We spoke with Deco about the possible arrival of Lobotka from Napoli, Barcelona would take him. But many other things would have to happen first.”

Stanislav Lobotka played an influential role from midfield in leading the Partenopei to their third Scudetto success last season. The Slovak’s contract with Napoli expires in 2027.

Having played as a regular under Luciano Spalletti last campaign as well as this season, club CEO Aurelio De Laurentiis will aim to make a good deal from Barcelona if they approach this upcoming transfer window. Lobotka’s own agent recently confirmed that Barcelona could become an option for the midfielder.
