Bobby “Boomer” Baun, a legendary hard-hitting defenseman and four-time Stanley Cup champion, died at the age of 86, the NHL Alumni Association announced Tuesday. Baun totaled 37 goals and 224 points in 964 career NHL games, while accumulating 1,489 penalty minutes. The Lanigan, Saskatchewan native played parts of 17 seasons in the NHL with the Toronto Maple Leafs, Oakland Seals and Detroit Red Wings.
