Inter’s Nicolo Barella yet to speak to Newcastle United despite rumours

Inter midfielder Nicolo Barella is not close to joining Newcastle United and has, in fact, never spoken to the Magpies.

The Telegraph today have reported that Newcastle United are interested in Barella and are trying to sign the Italian this summer from Inter.

Calciomercato have responded with a report of their own, stating that Barella’s agent has not spoken to anyone so far and has not spoken to the Magpies either. He is yet to hold a meeting with Inter about his future at the club and that is expected to take place after Italy’s games in the Nations League.

It isn’t known yet as to whether Inter consider him a sellable asset or not but it is certain that a fee of €50 million will not be enough for the Italian.

The report from The Telegraph has stated that the Magpies are closing in a move for the midfielder, with intense talks having taken place so far in the last few days.
