Juventus signing Carlos Alcaraz reveals admiration for Cristiano Ronaldo

New Juventus signing Carlos Alcaraz has revealed his admiration for former club hero Cristiano Ronaldo.

Alcaraz joined Juve as a late signing in the January transfer window, arriving on loan from Southampton. Juve have an option to buy the Argentine permanently but the option to buy is at a high amount, so it remains to be seen if the Bianconeri can land him on a permanent basis.

On signing for the club, Alcaraz was asked about his early influences and he revealed that Ronaldo, who left Juve in 2021, is his biggest idol despite him being Argentine.

The midfielder told Juventus: “As a child I always really liked Cristiano Ronaldo, he was an inspiration for me and for everyone. When I played for Racing I really liked one of my teammates, Zaracho. He was a great example, but CR7 was the greatest inspiration.”

The midfielder also revealed that he was always using Juventus when playing video games on PlayStation.

He said: “It was impressive, it’s a dream. I know that I will have to work hard to achieve my goals both with Juventus and on an individual level. It was crazy because I was playing with Juventus on the PlayStation and now I’m here.”

Alcaraz is in line to make his debut for the club against Inter in the huge Derby D’Italia game. He played 23 times in the Championship this season, scoring once and assisting thrice.
