Lazio president Claudio Lotito has refused to confirm Sergej Milinković-Savić’s move to Al-Hilal despite the Saudi Arabian club having already confirmed the signing of the player.

Strangely enough, Lazio are yet to confirm that the Serbian has left and there has been no message or tribute from the club, despite Milinković-Savić having contributed a lot to the club in general and when it comes to winning silverware.

But club president Lotito spoke to Il Messaggero (via TMW), saying that he has not received money from Al-Hilal yet and he will only confirm the move when the first installment has paid by the Saudi side. He told the outlet: “I haven’t received the money yet (the first installment of €40 million ) and I won’t transfer the player until I see them.”

While there are no hiccups in the deal, this mystery is causing questions about it – especially on Lazio’s end. The fee has already been agreed between the two clubs and Alfredo Pedulla has mentioned that the fee is actually 42 million and not 40 million, so it remains to be seen what the issue is.
