Lazio to appoint Giovanni Martusciello as interim boss

Lazio now seem set to have assistant manager Giovanni Martusciello as their interim manager following the resignation of Maurizio Sarri.

Martusciello has been Sarri’s assistant at Lazio and even at Juventus. While Sarri has resigned from the Roman club yesterday, the rest of his staff are still there and they are expected to stay at the club. La Lazio Siamo Noi state that it is seems all but final that Martusciello will be the interim manager, at least for the upcoming clash against Frosinone.

The club has already made a decision and he will likely be the interim boss till June, when the Biancocelesti will look for a new permanent manager.

Sarri’s assistant has already given his approval to taking over on an interim basis and soon, it will be clear as to who the new staff alongside him will be. Meetings did take place at the Formello yesterday to confirm Sarri’s resignation and the club executives also spoke to Martusciello about the new role.
