Luis Muriel very likely to stay at Atalanta in January

Atalanta striker Luis Muriel is highly unlikely to leave the club in the January transfer window.

The Colombian has been linked with multiple clubs in recent weeks, with Roma one such club. A host of other clubs have also been linked with him in the past.

According to sources contacted by Get Italian Football News though, the 32-year-old is not going to leave La Dea, which chances of an exit next month said to be ‘close to zero’, despite the fact that his contract runs out in the summer of 2024.

This suggests that Atalanta would be happy with losing the striker on a free transfer in the summer, amidst a renewed run of form. He has four goals in the Europa League so far for Gian Piero Gasperini’s side, having scored twice in the league with one being a late winner against Milan. He also found the back of the net in a 4-1 win over Salernitana recently.
