Napoli close in on renewing Victor Osimhen’s contract

Napoli have accelerated proceedings to renew the contract of striker Victor Osimhen.

According to a report by Gianluca Di Marzio, Napoli are seriously pushing to secure the contract renewal of Victor Osimhen as they don’t want to lose their star man from last season. 

The Nigerian’s agent Roberto Calenda had a meeting with club president Aurelio De Laurentiis three days back and since then, there has been an acceleration in talks about the striker’s contract extension, which were a bit stalled recently. 

With 26 goals in 32 appearances, the 24-year-old came out as the top scorer of the Serie A last season and new manager Rudi Garcia wants to build his team around him for the Scudetto defence.

Discussions are expected to continue for the next few days before a definite agreement is reached as both sides remain optimistic. 

The Partenopei want to wrap up this situation with Osimhen quickly as they cannot afford to have another first-team player leave after defender Kim Min-Jae’s transfer to Bayern Munich.
