Napoli consider Lille’s Jonathan David as potential Victor Osimhen replacement

Napoli are interested in signing Lille striker Jonathan David as a potential replacement for Victor Osimhen, if the Nigerian does depart the club this summer.

Il Mattino state today that Aurelio de Laurentiis is tempted by striking another deal with Lille for a striker, if Osimhen does leave and if a potential suitors ends up offering the €160 million that Napoli currently want. De Laurentiis is keen on signing players from Asia and the Americas and David fits the bill, with the move still very much in the preliminary stages.

While De Laurentiis does not want to let the likes of Osimhen and Kim Min-Jae leave this summer, he knows that the temptations from the Premier League could prove to be too much after one point.

Apart from David, Atalanta’s Rasmus Højlund is also on the Partenopei’s shortlist. Even though Christopher Nkunku seems close to joining Chelsea, he is also someone that Napoli are keeping tabs on.

When it comes to potentially fixing other positions, an enquiry has already been made for Sassuolo’s Armand Lauriente and he is seen as a potential replacement for the outgoing Hirving Lozano. Two players at Eintracht Frankfurt are of particular interest – Daichi Kamada and Jesper Lindstrøm.

There is also interest in Udinese’s Lazar Samardžić and Friuli youngster Simone Pafundi, who will play for the Italy side at the Under-20s World Cup.
