Roma’s Tammy Abraham on his return to action: “Difficult emotion for me to explain”

Roma striker Tammy Abraham returned to action in the Serie A today, revealing that is a difficult emotion for him to describe.

Abraham had picked up an ACL injury at the end of the previous campaign and that had kept him out until today, as he went surgery to correct the issue. He had returned to group training recently and he has returned to action as he came on late in the game against Lazio.

Gianluca Mancini’s goal helped the Giallorossi pick up all three points and Abraham spoke to DAZN (via RomaNews) about his return to action and how he feels about his return.

“We’re still celebrating. It was a special match for me and for the team. The derby is always the game you aim for and for me it was special to return on this occasion.”

The Englishman was asked about Daniele de Rossi’s comments about how the striker can’t wait to return to action.

“Going onto the pitch and hearing the fans’ chants was a difficult emotion for me to explain. I’m happy to be back and to be able to help the team as much as possible in this final season. Today I also had to help in defense and I did what I could for the team.”

Whether Abraham will play regularly for the club or not remains to be seen but his return to action is a huge boost for the club.
