Salernitana open talks for German legend Jerome Boateng

Serie A side Salernitana are interested in signing Germany legend Jerome Boateng and they have opened talks for the defender.

Gianluca di Marzio has reported that Salernitana are trying hard to sign Boateng this month and Thursday is expected to be an important day in understand whether the deal will go through or not, as developments can take place in the saga tomorrow.

Salernitana are growing in confidence regarding the move, with sporting director Walter Sabatini keen on the move and he wants to keep Filippo Inzaghi strengthen the side’s backline, as the club look to survive relegation once again this season under the former Milan striker.

If Boateng does join Salernitana, it would see him reunite with Franck Ribery, as they shared the dressing room during a gilded period at Bayern Munich. 

The 35-year-old was recently rejected by Bayern and he has been without a club since last year, following a stint at Lyon.
