Secret Contract? French Outlet Gives Latest on Messi Possibly Staying at PSG

When Paris Saint-Germain initially suspended Lionel Messi for two weeks, many believed the two parties were approaching a divorce. The Argentine’s contract expires on June 30, and he will become a free agent.

Nonetheless, a separation might not be the case after all. RMC Sport reported on Thursday that Messi’s camp decided to draft a private contract. 

In the text, an agreement is validated by both parties that Messi apologize for his unauthorized trip to Saudi Arabia, which he did with his video last Friday. 

Furthermore, with the apology, PSG has to accept the 35-year-old back into training, which they also did beginning Monday. 

The veteran’s camp feared at the time that the capital club would not keep their word by listening to his video and ultimately not letting him access the training session to start this week. 

However, after the latest ordeal, PSG has denied that a secret contract was established between Messi and the capital club when RMC Sport reached out for comment. 

Meanwhile, the 2022 FIFA World Cup winner’s camp didn’t provide a remark. But Messi’s father, Jorge, did recently slam the media for their reporting on the future of his son.
