Tiago Pinto set to be removed as Roma sporting director

Roma sporting director Tiago Pinto is set to leave the club in about a month’s time.

Rumours today had stated that the Portuguese will depart the Giallorossi at the end of the January transfer window and Gianluca di Marzio has confirmed that this is true.

Pinto will indeed leave the club at the end of January. The sporting director had himself decided that he will not renew his deal with the club as it expires in the summer transfer window. But the decision has been made by both parties that he will discontinue at the end of the winter window.

The decision is said to be Pinto’s as he is said to be tired and wants some time away from the game, and he believes that the cycle at Roma is now over.

There was previously talk of tensions between Jose Mourinho and Pinto and it now remains to be seen how this impacts the manager’s future.
