Inter chart new history with win over Bologna

With a win against Bologna last night, Inter have created a new record in the Serie A.

According to statistics shared by OptaPaolo, the win over Bologna stretched Inter’s winning run in the Serie A this season to 10 consecutive games. This is the third time in the club’s history that they won 10 league matches in a row: after Roberto Mancini’s legendary Nerazzurri side won 17 between October 2006 and February 2007. The second time it happened was under Simone Inzaghi when they went on a winning run for 11 successive matches between January and April 2021.

Inter have scored the most goals (70) and conceded the least (13) in Europe’s top five leagues this season as they are set to win the Scudetto after dominating for most parts of the campaign.

Thiago Motta’s Bologna are having a fairly good season as per their standards and they will consider it a success if they qualify for the Champions League. The Rossoblu were expected to put an end to the Nerazzurri’s formidable form but Yann Bisseck’s diving header dumped those predictions as Simone Inzaghi’s men went 18 points clear at the top of the table.
