Lazio excellent home record ahead of huge Champions League tie v Bayern Munich

Serie A giants Lazio aren’t having a great season by any means but their record in the Champions League is fairly decent, as they prepare to take on Bayern Munich later today.

Times at the Roman giants haven’t been great, with Maurizio Sarri under pressure and amidst underlying talk of internal strife at the Biancocelesti. Bayern Munich, despite their recent drubbing at the hands of Bayer Leverkusen, could go in as the favourites but numbers state that Lazio aren’t as bad in Europe this season.

The game later today is at the home of the Roman side and as per Opta, Lazio’s home record is fairly impressive. In fact, Lazio have the joint-best defensive record at home this season and they are tied at the top with Lille. Sarri’s side have kept ten clean sheets and in fact, they have always done well at home regardless of things have been for the side in general.

That stat could prove to be troublesome for Bayern Munich, who visit the Olimpico later.
