Why Walter Mazzarri left Stadio Olimpico alone after Roma v Napoli

Napoli manager Walter Mazzarri left the Stadio Olimpico alone after the club’s 2-0 loss to Roma.

The Partenopei were down to nine men in the game and Roma ran 2-0 winners in what proved to be a rather comfortable evening for them by the end of everything. 

While it was reported a day ago that Mazzarri had left the Olimpico alone as the Napoli team bus left him behind, CalcioNapoli have clarified that it isn’t like that the Partenopei team bus made a mistake. Apparently, this was Mazzarri’s decision and he wanted to travel on his own.

He travelled by taxi and he only decided to return to Naples alone due to personal reasons related to his family. 

The Italian returned to the club only some months ago but the club’s form hasn’t witnessed a huge upturn, with the performances still inconsistent. They are currently seventh in the table, with Bologna in the top four.
